Saint Augustine Academy of Alcantara Inc. was founded in 1967 by its original owners, Dr. Felicisimo Lucero and his better-half Mrs. Francisca Bracenilla Lucero of Badian, Cebu. Initially known as the “Lucenilla High School of Alcantara, Cebu”, the school was bought by the Daughters of St. Teresa (DST) in 1985, thereby placing it under the supervision of the DST sisters.

The school offers a complete basic education program, and is a member of the Catholic Education Association of the Philippines  (CEAP) and the Cebu Division Association of Private Schools Administrators (CEDAPSA).

Since its foundation, the school has produced thousands of graduates who have become professionals, working both in the Philippines and abroad.

The school thanks God for the hundredfold graces and blessings He has showered to the institution, and expresses also its gratitude to Saint Augustine de Hippo, the protector and patron saint of this institution, for his intercession.
